PRESS RELEASE — Equal1 has today announced the appointment of Andrew Flynn as Chief Operating Officer to lead operations, as the quantum computing firm scales global commercialisation of RacQ, its rack-mounted quantum computer.
Andrew brings more than twenty years of experience in scaling operations, semiconductor manufacturing, global supply chains, operations and quality management, including senior leadership roles at Decawave, Qorvo and Xilinx.
At Dublin-based semiconductor company Decawave, where he served as Vice President of Manufacturing and Quality, Andrew oversaw the entire supply chain, from wafer fabrication to assembly, testing and qualification, as the company scaled production of its ultra-wideband chips.
He continued to lead manufacturing, quality and portfolio management through Decawave’s acquisition by Qorvo in 2020, most recently serving as Dublin Site Lead and Director of Portfolio, Test and Operations.
Prior to Decawave, Andrew spent 11 years at Xilinx in Dublin and Singapore, holding management roles across manufacturing technology and supplier quality, including building and developing local teams.
Commenting on his appointment, Flynn said : “ Equal1 is leading the industry in making quantum computing deployable and scalable. The team has achieved something remarkable – a quantum computer that fits in a standard data centre rack and is powered by a silicon quantum processor built using established semiconductor manufacturing processes. I’m excited to join at this stage and help build the manufacturing capabilities, supply chains and operations needed to bring this technology to more customers worldwide.”
CEO of Equal1 Jason Lynch said: “ Andrew joins Equal1 at a pivotal moment as we scale commercialisation of RacQ and expand our global operations. He understands what it takes to bring complex semiconductor technology from development to volume production. That experience is exactly what we need as we work to make quantum computing commercially scalable, and I’m delighted to welcome him to the team.”
