Composing two distinct coin operations within a single step now demonstrably generates Parrondo’s paradox where simply alternating between those same operations fails to do so. This establishes a minimal structure, just two coin operators, required to realise this counterintuitive effect, surpassing previous investigations needing more complex systems. A geometric criterion relating transport vectors predicts when losing strategies will unexpectedly combine for overall gain.
