The Limit and Its Ground. QBism, Scientific Realism, and the Born Rule
QBists insist that theirs is a realist position while denying that the quantum formalism represents a mind-independent world. The insistence is hard to place. The realism debate is throughout a dispute about represented content, so a theory that denies standing in the representation relation appears not to take up a position within that debate at all. This paper examines the most developed attempt to make good on the QBist claim--David Glick's p...
Every architecture of six two-qubit gates is locally universal on three qubits
We present the \emph{first} analytical determination of the exact accessible dimension for every fixed architecture of arbitrary two-qubit gates on three qubits. A support word represents which pair of qubits each two-qubit gate acts on, and its reduced length is obtained by merging consecutive gates on the same pair. If the reduced length is $r$, then the set of implementable three-qubit unitaries has accessible dimension $d(w)=\min\{63,9r+9\}$...
Physics-Informed Classical and Quantum Neural Networks for One-Dimensional Schrodinger Eigenvalue Problems
The Schrodinger equation in one spatial dimension admits a small set of exactly solvable potentials that serve as natural proving grounds for any new eigenvalue solver. We formulate Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) and Physics-Informed Quantum Neural Networks (PIQNNs) for the time-independent Schrodinger equation and apply them to three of these benchmarks: the harmonic oscillator, the infinite square well, and the finite square well. In...
