In a significant move toward the commercial integration of quantum hardware, French quantum computing company Pasqal has entered into a three-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) with LG CNS. The partnership is designed to embed Pasqal’s neutral-atom quantum processing units (QPUs) directly into LG CNS’s existing AI data center infrastructure.
This collaboration marks a strategic step in the evolution of hybrid computing. By combining the specialized capabilities of neutral-atom quantum systems with the massive scale of classical AI data centers, the initiative aims to provide a platform capable of handling complex, high-performance AI workloads that may eventually exceed the limits of traditional silicon-based architectures.
For LG CNS, the move secures a foothold in the emerging quantum infrastructure space, specifically targeting the South Korean and broader Asia-Pacific markets. By integrating Pasqal’s technology, LG CNS intends to offer a sophisticated computing environment where quantum processors can work in tandem with classical systems to accelerate data processing and machine learning models.
For Pasqal, the agreement serves as a major expansion into the APAC region. The deployment of their neutral-atom technology—which utilizes atoms trapped in optical tweezers—offers a scalable pathway for quantum hardware. This partnership underscores a growing trend where quantum technology is moving out of the laboratory and into the production environments of global technology leaders.
