Silicon Quantum Computing (SQC) has officially announced the appointment of John Hollister as the company's Chief Financial Officer. Effective August 17, 2026, Hollister will take on a pivotal leadership role, overseeing the financial strategy and fiscal management of the quantum computing hardware developer.
With a career spanning more than a quarter-century, Hollister is a seasoned veteran of the global semiconductor landscape. His professional pedigree includes high-level financial leadership roles at prominent industry players, most notably serving as the Chief Financial Officer for both GlobalFoundries and Silicon Labs.
His transition into the quantum space is significant for SQC’s operational trajectory. As the quantum industry moves from theoretical research toward commercial scalability, having a CFO with deep roots in traditional semiconductor manufacturing provides a bridge between established silicon fabrication expertise and the emerging requirements of quantum hardware production.
By integrating Hollister's experience in managing large-scale semiconductor operations, SQC aims to streamline its financial infrastructure. This move is expected to support the company's efforts in navigating the capital-intensive demands of developing scalable quantum processors while maintaining fiscal discipline in a competitive global market.
