Press release – A new event on the world stage, the World Quantum Cannes Festival on Nov. 17 and 18, aims to create a global hub of quantum industrialization in one of Europe’s most prestigious locations, the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France. The inaugural event already has secured more than 100 high-level quantum business and industry speakers from around the world, including most of the industry’s heavy hitters.
Leading the way is the Honorary Committee, headed by Nobel Prize Winner Alain Aspect, and the Scientific Committee, led by Rainer Blatt, professor at the University of Innsbruck. Both committees are a “who’s who” list of major figures from the quantum industry as well as enterprise businesses. Committee members, and the additional speakers, are leaders of quantum companies, research institutes, universities, venture capital firms, analysts, and government.
While there is no shortage of quantum conferences, the World Quantum Festival in Cannes stands apart, created to welcome attendees in a prestigious, neutral international environment that is globally recognized. One stand-out element is the Top Executive Program, through which 100 C-suite executives interested in learning and networking are invited to attend on a complimentary basis, providing opportunities for attendees to meet one-on-one with potential customers. This group represents an exceptional gathering of entrepreneurs, academics, investors and enterprise early adopters who are eager to be part of this prestigious event in Cannes.
As quantum technologies begin moving further into commercialization, industry leaders are seeking ways to develop greater international coordination and cooperation and to find pathways to interact with companies seeking to learn more and begin adopting quantum initiatives. This event has been structured to help bridge geographical, technological, and organizational divides within the industry.
The Alpes-Maritime region, where Cannes is located, enthusiastically welcomes the event and future interactions with the quantum community. Hosting organizations in addition to the city of Cannes include the Alpes-Maritime Department and the EuropIA Institute.
“Our ambition is clear, to make the Alpes-Maritimes a land of open and useful innovation,” explained Charles-Ange Ginesy, president of the Alpes-Maritimes Department. “By supporting this festival, we are banking on collective intelligence for a future where science serves humanity without ever replacing it.
“We are proud to host this major international event in our region, bringing together scientists, industry leaders, investors and policymakers around a shared ideal: transforming the power of quantum technology into tangible impact for society and for the future.”
David Lisnard, Mayor of Cannes, welcomes visitors to Cannes to enjoy two days of learning and collaboration in an unparalleled locale. “Like electricity once did, and digital technology more recently, quantum inspires both excitement and concern. It is up to us to understand it, regulate it and to embed it within the project of a civilization aware of its responsibilities.”
Marco Landi, president of EuropIA Institute, added. “We are proud to support this initiative, convinced that the true value of a technology lies not only in its power or innovation, but in its ability to serve the common good, enrich human knowledge and build a sustainable, inclusive and human-centered future.”
Registration is now open for attendees, with early-bird pricing before August 28. A limited number of sponsorships are still available, as well as exhibition hall space. For more information on the program, speakers and networking opportunities, please visit the website .
